Twelve ag industry groups filed an amicus brief backing Bayer’s call for the U.S. Supreme Court to declare that federal pesticide law preempts state-based failure-to-warn claims.

 

“Glyphosate is the single most widely used herbicide for weed management in the United States and is essential to sustaining American farming in the 21st century,” the groups say. “It’s registered for use on more than 100 crops—from asparagus, to zucchini, and everything in between.”

 

Key members of the “Make America Healthy Again” coalition, have filed a petition with EPA calling on the agency to ban glyphosate, atrazine, dicamba and more than 80 other pesticides that have been prohibited or severely restricted by other countries.
