IFCA Reflects on the Contributions of Kenny Cruce

Over the Christmas break, we learned that a long-time IFCA member passed away:  Kenny Cruce Sr. who died on December 23 at the age of 82.  To see his obituary click here.

Kenny was a valued partner and friend to many ag retailers in southwestern and southern Illinois.  In his long career with Conagra/Gavilon and later K.C. Distributors, he was a direct link in the fertilizer supply chain and a friend and mentor to many in the ag retail industry.  Kenny was active in the Southern Illinois Pesticide/Fertilizer Conference and also one of the founding members of the Midwest Ag Scholarship Foundation, which awards scholarships each year to students studying for a career in our industry.

Kenny was old school in the best of all ways--he embodied integrity, he always followed through, he knew how to have fun and he loved the industry.  He would also go the extra mile to help his customers and his friends, no matter what roller coaster the fertilizer markets were experiencing.  We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and many friends, and are extremely grateful for all he contributed to the fertilizer industry in Illinois.
