Pesticide Container Recycling Wrap-up

IFCA thanks the Illinois Department of Agriculture, The Agricultural Container Recycling Council (ACRC) and all of our retail members who hosted this summer's pesticide container recycling events.  The program wrapped up last Friday.

We especially thank Rick Severns at IDA who organized the program and also fielded phone calls from retailers who desired to bring mini-bulks to recycle at these events.  The total amount of plastic that was accepted for recycling was 75,537 pounds.  Of that amount 8,340 pounds was plastic from mini-bulk containers.  The recycler, G. Phillips & Son, has been very accommodating and we appreciate the many levels of cooperation that exist to make this stewardship program possible, and free of charge to ag retailers.

There are two permanent sites that can continue to accept clean non-bulk containers, but you must contact them ahead of time.  They are CHS in Carrollton and Klein Flying Service in Lawrenceville.  To see details on the recycling program click here.
