USEPA Visiting Retailers on RMP Compliance

Region 5 USEPA is out visiting Illinois ag retailers to check their level of compliance with the Risk Management Plan (RMP) for anhydrous ammonia.  Please take some time to review your RMP.  If you use the Asmark myRMP program (which USEPA endorses) it will provide you access to all the mechanical integrity requirements as well as other required elements of the RMP.  But as with all regulations, you must ensure that your plan is unique to each ammonia facility including your operating procedures and information on your storage and nurse tanks.  Someone on site should be very familiar with your RMP plan in order to sit down with the USEPA inspector and go through each element of the plan. If you have questions about our RMP, please contact John Rebholz at our office or john@ifca.com.
