IFCA Hosting 4R Field Day on September 12

On September 12, IFCA is helping to organize a 4R Field day to showcase the most recent findings of on-farm 4R work funded by the Illinois Nutrient Research & Education Council (NREC).

Managing phosphorus losses in Illinois will be one of NREC's first publications, and you can get a preview of the research that has resulted in specific practices to reduce phosphorus losses, even from very flat fields.  You will also get to see first hand the work performed at an on-farm site in Piatt County that involves N Rate Trials, cover crops and even a bioreactor, and also learn the results of various nitrogen treatments and the influence they have in the amount of nitrogen appearing in field tiles.  Dan Schaefer and Jason Solberg of IFCA are involved in many of these projects and IFCA is helping to organize this event for ag retailers to stay informed on the latest developments of this work.

Space is limited for this free event.  We will depart on a nice bus rom the Outlet Mall in Tuscola then head to the nearby on-farm research site where the presentations will be featured along with lunch and an update on IFCA's efforts to contribute valuable information pertaining to the goals of the IL Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy.  It is good news so you won't want to miss out on hearing the progress that our industry is making.

To pre-register for the event, just send Jean Payne an email at jeanp@ifca.com.  As the date gets closer we will provide specific details on event.
