Pesticide Clean Sweep Program

We periodically get calls from IFCA members who have customers with unwanted or unknown pesticides in their barns or tool sheds.  This year, the IL Dept of Ag "Clean Sweep" program will take these unwanted pesticides from persons who reside in Champaign, DeWitt, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston, McLean, Piatt and Vermilion counties.  There is no charge to bring unwanted pesticides to the Clean Sweep event, but the person who has the pesticides MUST pre-register with the IDA before showing up at the waste disposal site.  Once they register, they will get a confirmation from IDA a date, time and location to show up with their unwanted pesticides.  Click here to see more information on this program including how to register; you must register unwanted pesticides by July 14, 2017 to participate.  Ag retailers cannot participate in this program, but we encourage you to inform you customers of this opportunity and help safely get rid of unwanted pesticides.  The program is free of charge and is funded by a grant from USEPA.
