Sadness Over Loss of Ag Retail Operator

IFCA was deeply saddened to learn of an accident on Thanksgiving morning that took the life of Drew Frese, an employee of Ag View FS in Bureau County, IL.  Drew was dedicated to his job as a custom ammonia applicator, and had returned to a field that morning to finish the remaining acres for his customer before the bad weather moved in.  As he was headed back to the plant, he crossed a private rail crossing in the field and his tractor was struck by a west-bound Amtrak train.  Drew was 25 years old; he was married with a 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Kayla, their children and extended family, and also with his fellow employees at Ag View FS.  We wanted to share this sad news with you, knowing that the ag retail community would be moved by this tragedy and reflect upon the jobs you do every day, and how life can change in an instant.  If this accident can result in anyone in our industry thinking about all the steps that are necessary to take every day to return home safely to your family and friends, we felt it important to honor Drew's life in that way.

Drew's obituary is here.  Ag View FS has set up a fund to collect donations for Kayla and the children.  If you would like to make a donation you can send a check payable to Kayla Frese and mail it to:  Ag View FS Inc., 22069 HWY 34, Princeton IL  61356.  Ag View can also take a credit card payment, if you prefer that please call their office at 815.875.2800.  Ag View will keep a register of all who donated, or you can also make an anonmyous donation.
