Dicamba Label - Coming Soon?

It was on Friday, October 13, 2017 when USEPA issued the revised dicamba labels for the 2018 application season.  So you could wager that it might be around the same time in 2018 that the next dicamba labels may be released.  It is generally expected that there will be a label for use on soybean and it may contain changes in the use instructions.  It is also expected that all applicators who apply dicamba in 2019 will need to undergo auxin specific training again.

IDA is now about 55% finished with the 2018 pesticide misuse investigations.  There was a total of 531 pesticide complaints, with 330 of those being dicamba related.  So far, IDA has issued 111 warning or advisory letters and 10 notices of monetary penalty.  81 case so far have been dismissed because no misuse was determined or the complainant withdrew the complaint.  Commercial applicators are receiving around 50% of the warning letters or monetary penalties.  If you receive a warning letter or penalty and do not agree with the IDA's determination, IFCA is happy to review your letter and offer advice on whether to consider an appeal.  The appeal process was established to ensure due process and the opportunity to have your case re-considered.  If we can assist you, please call Jean, KJ or John.
