Thanks to all of the IFCA members and supporters who attended the IFCA convention last week.  We increased our attendance from 2017, with 1,248 attending the 2018 show....THANK YOU!  

 

Highlights of the convention included a personal visit from Governor Bruce Rauner, who spoke at both the Ag-Solve breakfast and the general session on January 17.  He thanked our members for their leadership on the IL Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy and for keeping agriculture a vibrant contributor to the Illinois economy.  

 

Also at the Convention, Illinois Sierra Club members Jack Darin and Cindy Skrukrud, and State Treasurer Mike Frerichs attended on January 16 to congratulate IFCA on the 5 year anniversary of the creation of NREC and share their positive experiences working together with agriculture and NREC on nutrient challenges.  The Sierra Club issued a very nice press release following the IFCA convention, it is available here.  

 

It was an excellent convention and the Ag-Solve auction was also very successful, generating great support for IFCA's legislative efforts.  A big thanks to our members, our exhibitors, our sponsors and our friends who braved very cold temperatures to make the IFCA convention a success!
