FMCSA Seasonal Ag CDL Reforms

IFCA would like to thank the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for publishing reforms to the Seasonal Ag CDL (Restricted Class B CDL in Illinois) program.  These reforms go into effect immediately.

One of the main reforms impacting ag retailers is the increase to the number of days a restricted CDL is valid: 180 to 210 days. The second major reform is the change to a calendar year rotation for the program to prevent any overlaps from season to season from one year to the next.

IFCA along with our national association, the Ag Retailer Association (ARA), as well as coalition partners sent letters to Congress and made personal visits to capitol hill in 2021 in support of modernizing this program.

This program is utilized within our ag retail membership. If you have any questions regarding the Seasonal Ag CDL (Restricted Class B CDL in Illinois), please click here or reach out to KJ at kj@ifca.com with further questions.
