Biden Sets Goal to Cut GHG Emissions by at Least 50%

President Biden is setting a goal to reduce U.S. Greenhouse Gas emissions by at least 50% over the next 10 years.
 
 
He unveiled the plan today, Earth Day, at his international climate summit with leaders from China, India and other countries.
 
 
The new U.S. target is almost double that of the nation’s earlier Paris Climate Agreement commitment.
 
 
The White House says there are multiple paths to reach the emissions goal by 2030 and that millions of jobs will be created as a result. It says agriculture and forests play a role by enhancing carbon capture in a range of programs and measures through ecosystems, including soil.
