How Ag Retailer’s Concerns About COVID-19 Have Changed

During the busiest time of year for row crop agriculture, the COVID-19 pandemic threw in a completely new set of considerations for how ag retailers do business with their farmer customers.
 
In the last two weeks of March, an AgProfessional.com poll asked, “How concerned are you that coronavirus will impact your business?” Only 19% said not concerned or unsure.
 
We followed up that first poll with a second poll the last two weeks of April. We asked: “How big of an effect has COVID-19 had on your business this spring?” Of the 45 votes, 56% answered negative or very negative.
 
In early March, AgPro started reporting on the effects of COVID-19 on the ag input supply chain. And suppliers confirmed solid inventories to help alleviate any concerns over potential issues.
