Last week, Dan Schaefer, IFCA's Director of Nutrient Stewardship, was honored as the 2018 Ag Leader of the Year at a banquet hosted by the Champaign News Gazette.  Dan was nominated by a committee of Champaign County farmers who have previously won this award.  Dan is the first non-farmer to earn this recognition.  The committee of farmers selected him to recognize the leadership he has provided to the industry in his 30 year career with Illini FS as a respected crop adviser, for his work ethic, and in recognition of his current role with IFCA implementing nutrient research trials and promoting the 4Rs to reduce nutrient losses.  To see a short video on Dan's selection for this honor, click here.  Congratulations Dan, well deserved!
