Illinois can follow other states’ lead to $15 minimum hourly wage

As it considers raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour, Illinois has a few examples to follow.

Last Wednesday, the Illinois Senate Labor Committee had a hearing on raising Illinois’ minimum wage from $8.25 to $15. There is no agreement on how long the transition would take, or if it should be done uniformly statewide.

Legislation could be sent to the Senate floor as early as Wednesday.
