Upgrading to Applicator License Recommended
Licensed operators in Illinois are doing a terrific job of attending field crop training and taking the exam in order to become certified commercial applicators to apply Engenia, Xtendimax or FeXapan, or to mix and load these products in the upcoming season. There are only 4 opportunities available yet this year to take the UI training for field crops. All other classes are full. The open classes are below and you can register for the classes by going to https://web.extension.illinois.edu/psep/
January 18 at Utica
January 25 at Carterville
January 29 at the IFCA Convention in Peoria - you must call IFCA at 309.827.2774 to register for this class.
February 11 at Champaign
If you pass the field crop exam, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU UPGRADE TO THE APPLICATOR LICENSE. While it is true that IDA only requires passage of the exam to consider you "certified" in their database, unless you apply for and pay the certified commercial applicator license fee, you will have to take and pass the field crops every year and we are pretty sure you don't want to do that! That's because your test is only good for one year, unless you obtain the actuaal license from IDA. If you already have an operator license, you can upgrade to an applicator license for only $60 once you pass field crops. If you have questions please contact IFCA.
