IFCA Has Limited Number of Red Flags for Flagging Sensitive Crops
Thanks to an anonymous donor, IFCA has a limited supply of tall red flags with fiberglass poles, designed to flag fields that contain dicamba sensitive crops. We are trying to prioritize the distribution of the flags to our members who have customers with organic or non-GMO soybeans, in order to assist farmers and applicators in identifying fields that are not tolerant to dicamba. Along with the flags we developed a simple post card that has instructions on how to use the flags.
If you would like some of these flags and postcards, please call IFCA or email Jean Payne at email@example.com. We will get them to our members until our supply runs out. And if we have more demand for flags than what we can accommodate, it sends a signal that this proactive approach is welcomed by the industry, and we may be able to get some more flags for this stewardship effort.
Please continue to help share our Dicamba Stewardship Poster which is available here. There is also a presentation from Dr. Jason Norsworthy posted on the IFCA website and available here which includes slides that illustrate various application scenarios for dicamba use on soybeans. If you have any questions regarding the upcoming pesticide application season, please contact IFCA.
