Membership serves as a fighter for the best use of your dollars.
Illinois has one of the lowest fertilizer taxes of any state thanks to work by the association. (Fertilizer fees for other states are in excess of $1 to $4 per ton for regulatory enhancement).
Your cost of transportation would be astronomically higher if IFCA had not secured an ag exception for retail delivery of fertilizers and pesticides to your customers.
You could have been faced with following county, city and township pesticide regulations — ALL DIFFERENT — if preemption had passed.
Every day state and federal legislators are enacting laws which impact your future. Acting alone, your voice may not be heard, but combining your concerns with the outcry of hundreds of IFCA TEAM members helps get things done.
Illinois Representation
The IFCA is a watchdog for the fertilizer and agrichemical industry in Illinois. The IFCA monitors government action which directly influences: taxes, pay scales, hiring, firing, worker compensation and many other items which effect profitability. Membership gives you united power to support legislation you believe is fair and to defeat legislation which is destructive to our industry.
National Representation
The IFCA is one of the leading state association liaisons with the Ag Retailers Association, the American Crop Protection Association, The Fertilizer Institute and the Midwest Ag Chem Association. Through these national affiliations we use the influence of our members to bring grassroots representation to the nation’s Capital.
A few examples of your IFCA TEAM representation include:
Submitting comments and representing your voice on issues such as national Hazardous Materials Regulations. Participating in public policy forums and actively monitoring and responding to legislation which may impact the fertilizer and agrichemical industry.
Promoting closer coordination and building coalitions between the agricultural fertilizer and pesticide industry, agricultural businesses and governmental, educational and agricultural agencies throughout ILLINOIS and the NATION.
Submitting comments and representing your voice on issues such as national container and containment regulations.
Actively monitoring legislation which may impact the fertilizer and agrichemical industry and participating in public policy forums.
Promoting closer coordination and understanding between the agricultural pesticide industry, agricultural businesses and governmental, educational and agricultural agencies throughout ILLINOIS.
Distributing factual information to the media and the misinformed public.
Providing assistance in regulatory enforcement action.
